Can you get a refund on Super Visa insurance?
2026-10-02 · 4 min read · Policy Place
Plans change. Visas get refused. Parents sometimes go home early. Here is how refunds on Super Visa and visitor insurance usually work.
If the Super Visa is refused
Most insurers give a full refund if the visa is refused and the policy has not started, as long as you send proof of the refusal. Some charge a small administration fee. Each plan's rules are in the "Refunds" tab of the plan overview in our quote engine, and in the official policy wording.
If your parents return home early
Many insurers refund the unused days if no claim has been made, usually after you send proof of the return date (such as a boarding pass or passport stamp). There may be a deadline to ask and a minimum refund amount.
If you cancel before the start date
Most plans allow a full refund if you cancel before coverage begins. Some also have a short "free look" period after purchase.
What to check before you buy
- Is there an administration fee on refunds?
- How long do you have to request a refund?
- What proof is needed?
- Are refunds possible if a claim has been made? (Usually not.)
This is general information. Refund rules differ between insurers — the policy wording always governs. Ask us if you are unsure.
